St. Jude. Branding & Marketing Design

The Challenge.

For St. Jude, September is National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month throughout the U.S., and It is also an opportunity for the team to increase awareness and bolster their fundraising efforts; through their sponsored events. The challenge presented by this project was to create a branded treatment for one of their special events that would seamlessly translate, across mediums, while remaining cost-effective to produce.

The Approach.

In a testament to the fact that "a picture is worth a thousand words", a single high-resolution image was used as a basis for the creative. After some Photoshop magic, the completed black and white image was converted into a vector-based treatment. The result - a single image that could be scaled to accommodate everything, from a matchbook up to a building-sized banner. In addition, the methodology employed, allowed for the production of the image in a single color and changed out as needed.

The Result.

As you can see, the final product was simple, elegant and had an inherent versatility that made it ideal for use across platforms. While the limitations that were placed on the project were significant, the process and a generous amount of creativity resulted in a project that was not only cost-effective, but memorable.
